I am experiencing back muscle spasms. Dr prescribed Selaxin but I get side effects I want alternative way.?
Everytime I take these drugs, the side effects are worse than my problem !! There must be something to do like holistic method or just waiting for me to calm down. This is due to being caregive for 10 months and this last week Hospice. My aunt died and I am bundle of nerves ! Stress related but I can’t take chance of swelling in face, hives, etc. Selaxis 800 mg is a lot of drug ! I am thinking of a massage Mostly bothers me at night when lying down and trying to sleep, and can’t move freely without that “jerk” During day I put a rib brace on to support and take Tylenol which helps all day. This has been about a week, now and funeral servies for 2 hours is today and that is it With all the other things that will have to be done coming up I just want to get some normalcy to be prodective with a good night’s rest. Flexall helps somewhat but wonder if there is a great ointment to use as well.
You can break the 800 mg tab in two. Ibuprofen helps for inflammation. You might consider visiting a pain clinic to manage your pain and condition.

I broke my humerus bone about 7 weeks ago and now im experiencing a severe muscle knot in my shoulder. I have tried massage but it has little affect. Are there any specific massage technique that I can use that will get rid of this?
I bet you could use some magnesium. If you’re trying to mend a bone, you should probably be taking it anyway – but magnesium also has a lot to do with nerves and these crampy muscles.
Not sure what to do – you could take two or three one-a-day vitamin pills a day for a while. Those will have a little magnesium in them – but you could probably use a bigger shot of it to begin with. I know NOW Foods makes a good big magnesium pill with vit D and zinc and calcium – you could take a couple of those a day for a week or so. I bet those would help.
A good big dose of vitamin D might help with cramps too.
