massaging nerves
What kind of nerve or back muscular problem is this?

My friend has a very uncommon back pain.
ex.
If I slightly touch her back, she instantly feels a knife stabbing pain and react as if there was a real knife being instantly inserted in her back.

However, If I massage her back using some force and pressure, she doesn’t feel the painful nerves at all and she in fact feels relief when I give her this strong massage. I don’t understand it.

She says that she feels like her back muscles are interlaced together but I can’t see anything.

What kind of nerve or back problem is this?

(she strongly believes it’s something to do with an infection the nurse inserted in her back 6 years ago during her pregnancy.)

It sounds like she has a bulging (prolapsed) intervertebral disc. The firm pressure pushed the disc back into place and takes the pressure off the nerves which is causing the pain. She needs medical treatment for this condition.
